  1. Welcome – Bev
  2. October 8, 2009 meeting notes
The notes will stand as distributed.
  3. Report launch:  how and when? - Bev
Bev asked the committee for ideas on how and when to launch the report to the university community.  Several suggestions were given such as a town hall meeting or open forum; soft rollout before fall semester ends (or wait until first week of January?); announcement at December (or February) University Council meeting; use UNIOnline, MyUniverse and email lists for distribution.  All employees and students need to be aware of the report – all voices should be heard.  We do not want to conflict with the Diversity Town Hall meeting scheduled for January 21, 2010.
  4. President & Provost read report over Thanksgiving - Bev
Dr. Allen & Dr. Gibson plan to read the report over the Thanksgiving holiday.  It will be delivered to them on Tuesday, November 24.  Some comments may need to accompany the report so they understand there are sections that will be updated.
  5. FAQ draft - Kate
A draft of some frequently asked questions and answers had been distributed to the committee for review prior to the meeting.  Kate drafted the questions after looking at other institutional web sites for examples.  In addition to the draft questions, members suggested several others that could be included.  The FAQ section will be added to our web site.
  6. For the good of the order
Bev reported that she was approached by Provost Gibson and Dr. Geadelmann regarding a NEA grant to develop online master’s degree programs in Education.  Since we have not been approved by the HLC to offer online programs, we have submitted a request for approval.  A two-person team will be on campus March 22-23, 2010 to review two specific master’s programs.  If we would like blanket approval from the HLC to offer any program online, the review team would have to be brought to campus a second time.

The next scheduled meeting is Thursday, December 3 at 3:15 p.m. in the Presidential Room.
